History
Nearly all emergencies, disasters & events begin and end at the local level. Hans was wrapping up his senior year at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, pursing degrees in Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering in 2014, when he was asked to serve as Technical Architect on an Entergy® grant funded initiative to establish a local mobile emergency operations center for a small town emergency management office. About 10 years prior, Hans and his family were victims of major residential flooding, as a result of a severe storm and poor drainage in the area due to new construction; leaving four feet of water in the newly renovated basement and 27th on the list after calling 9-1-1 repeatedly for hours.
Realizing that not only, is emergency response, a 24 hours a day / 7 days a week / 365 days a year enterprise, but promoting the continuity of both routine and emergency operations at any level, anytime and anywhere is as equally critical. While various agencies such as U.S. Department of Homeland Security instigate and propose best practices from lessons learned, we must be proactive to support that mission. Localized emergency response is vital to the success of the national response framework, and is a shared multi-agency responsibility, coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual disasters caused by natural, technological and human-caused hazards.
In May 2015, Fail Safe Technologies LLC was founded; offering virtual, redundant, interoperable, resilient, scalable, and easy to use technological services to public safety, municipalities, civil defense, emergency managers, educational institutes (public/private), healthcare, traffic/transportation, energy/utility and other critical infrastructure stakeholders. Working directly with clients determining their precise needs, fostering a cradle to grave responsibility for all matters technologically augmented localized emergency response, striving to provide high quality services and exceptional after service and support.
